Reki’s silence allowed Langa to continue, to pour his heart out at the only chance he got to confess. “Forgive me for springing this on you all of a sudden. It’s just that… I’ve always wanted to be with you, as more than just friends. I want to go on dates with you and stuff, I want to tell you everyday how much I like you. You’re so incredible, Reki, I can’t help it. I know I don’t have a chance, but I just can’t stop wanting you. “Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about us, especially near my birthday. Everyone around me keeps saying I should make the best of my time and not have regrets. I thought of you, and I realized I might regret it if I never tell you how I feel. So, for my birthday, I decided to take my chance and experience being with you like that. I know it’s selfish, so I only ask for it once. But even then, I know I won’t have any regrets.”

Fur white as snow, teeth sharp as knives, claws that looked like they could pierce skin, and black horns on the top of its head. It looked exactly like what step-sister Miya had described, only… very cartoonish. And very, very ugly. Cindereki snorted. The beast grumbled lowly, making him bite his tongue. A few days left for #FicSnips and my hanfuyu story crossed 8800 words somehow.. Yes, if I had a beta reader/editor person, I could chop all the excess wordiness out of it, but then it wouldn't look like I wrote it anymore. (#TokyoRevengers)

It hit him then, like a truck almost did, that somewhere along the line, Langa had fallen in love. It was a little scary, at first, knowing he had let himself feel that way. Curse his foolish heart for being so weak, opening so willingly for a boy who was merely sweet and kind to him. He told himself he’d move on, that his feelings were temporary… if only Reki hadn’t made it so hard. Because if falling in love with Reki was easy, then loving Reki was even easier. Langa himself couldn’t fully explain it, having fallen so hard and fast he failed to consider all the hows and whys. It just… happened, he just happened to keep loving Reki, like it was something as natural as breathing, something he did everyday without a second thought. It was as though Langa had always been in love with Reki, even back when he hadn’t met him yet. As though all these times Langa couldn’t love another was because he had been waiting. Waiting for Reki.

If I get to live a thousand lives, I’ll find you and marry you in each and every one of them.
