LimberJack, folk instrument. A wooden doll with jointed limbs. Handcrafted in Mt Airy, North Carolina USA. You place a flat wooden board under your leg - while sitting on a solid hard chair. Bounce your knee to get a rhythm going with the board. The wooden doll has a stick/dowel in his back. Hold the stick/man over your bouncing board, and he will dance. His wooden feet tapping the flat board plays a percussion rhythm. I took him with me to our drum circle this afternoon. Everyone was fascinated with his dancing skills. I think I'll bring him again sometime.
Our local drum circle gets together on the first and third Sunday of every month, at the public library. We also enjoy playing other percussion instruments
Today, I brought LimberJack along. He had a great time.
Everyone was fascinated with him. I might bring him more often. #folkinstrument
