**A longtime vegan spot in the Short North is preparing to close its doors.** Woodhouse Vegan announced on Instagram that it will be closing its café operations later this summer after about a decade in business. The café is located at 19 W. Russell St. in the Short North. Owned by sisters Cara and Nicole, Woodhouse started as a small meal prep concept before growing into a full café known for its plant-based menu and loyal following. In their announcement, the owners shared that the decision comes as they take time to step back and figure out what’s next for the brand. ### In the post, they reflected on the past 10 years, writing: > “Over the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of building something deeply meaningful… nurturing talent, creating food that comforts + connects, and cultivating a space rooted in inclusion, respect + community… We’re so proud of what we built with all of you.” > View this post on Instagram > > A post shared by WOODHOUSE 𝓿𝓮𝓰𝓪𝓷 (@woodvhouse) The post also thanked their team, partners, and customers who supported the business from its early pop-ups to its brick-and-mortar location, noting that the next step is about creating space “to breathe + reimagine what’s next.” While the café is closing, the owners made it clear this isn’t the end of Woodhouse altogether, calling it “not an ending, but a transition” as they look toward a future version of the concept. An exact closing date hasn’t been announced yet, but the team says they’ll remain open for the next few months. If you’d like to grab some grub before they close, the café is still open, with hours running Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. ## Keep Exploring * Everything You Need To Know About Coronavirus In Columbus * 14 Beauty Artists To Follow On Instagram From The 614 * The 55 Best Restaurants In Columbus, Ohio * The Best Plant-Based Restaurants And Options In Columbus * The Best Columbus Restaurants That Opened In 2025
