Abstract automatic drawing finished in Procreate. Fordite is an interesting business case. What it is is layer upon layer of paint sprayover from the floors of factories where new cars are painted. The paint splatters and builds up year after year creating these beautiful patterns. How random is that? Good question! Anyway, what happens next is that the paint eventually has to be scraped up, by which time it might be an inch or two thick. It is broken up into small pieces and polished. Each piece is unique. Some might use the word "rare." You might even find a piece of fordite more attractive than gemstones worth millions. Why not wear it as a ring or necklace? Yes, it's "man made" but without intention. Or rather with intention towards something else, something bigger and more "important" than the negative space of the factory floor. This could be a story of capitalism and gullibility, but it's more. Let them laugh their way to the bank, I'll be here exploring the swirls and patterns, honoring the odd little creatures embedded here and there and reading the secrets to life those assholes never noticed.
