This is a landscape photograph of a snow-covered mountain scene. Fog shrouds the peaks. The rugged slopes on the right are quite steep. The glacier on the left slopes much more gently. This is a digital colour photograph, in which, however, very little colour was discernible. The photograph has been converted to black and white, with the look of Ilford HP5+400 analogue film and a natural, dark texture applied as a filter. (Photo: 25 August 2013)

The center of this image is dominated by a monochrome image of a hyacinth that angles from upper left to lower right through the frame. A small region at the upper end of the hyacinth is darker where new blossoms are growing; the rest of the image is mostly white. The upper end is also fully in focus, becoming less in focus toward the base of the flower as it moves away from the viewer in the lower part of the frame. The hyacinth is surrounded by numerous other flowers, mostly not in focus, except at the lower right, where a portion of a sharply focused blossom appears. The lower left corner is nearly black, however, except for one small blossom in the background that appears as a dark grey.
