The entire community is invited to visit to shop local, celebrate together and make memories in Uptown Westerville this holiday season. Beginning on **Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29** , Uptown Westerville Inc. is rolling out festive programming designed to celebrate the season and create special moments for families and friends. Uptown Westerville Inc., a nationally accredited Main Street America organization, is proud to promote this annual observance in partnership with Main Street America and American Express. Many Uptown businesses offer expanded holiday hours through the holiday season; however, hours vary by location, so visitors are encouraged to check individual business websites or social media pages for holiday hours. In fact, Uptown is extending Small Business Saturday national observance to a whole weekend to support shopping local in Westerville. Be sure to visit the stores, shops and restaurants Uptown on **Small Business Sunday** Nov. 30. Kick off your **Small Business Sunday** holiday shopping Nov. 30 with: * **500 “Holidays in Uptown” canvas shopping totes** will be available to shoppers Nov. 30 – free while supplies last – beginning on “Small Business Sunday” Nov. 30 – Uptown’s expansion of the national Small Business Saturday into an entire weekend push to shop local, shop small, and shop Uptown. Visit the Uptown Westerville Inc. tent in Rotary Park, at the southeast corner of Home and State streets, to pick up your Holidays in Uptown tote. * **The Gingerbread Obstacle Course** and **Snowman Bounce House** for kids and families will be set up Nov. 30 in the parking lot adjacent to Columbus Running Co., 50 N. State St. Hours for the bounce house and obstacle course will be noon-3 p.m. * **Uptown Gift Cards:** If you want a little Uptown flexibility in your gifts this year, think about the new Uptown Gift Card. The season continues with beloved community traditions: * **City Tree Lighting Ceremony:** Enjoy a night of holiday festivities in Uptown Westerville from 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at Westerville City Hall, 21 S. State St. The city’s Festival of Lights featuring city vehicles decked out with holiday cheer will run from Home Street to Park Street, with an appearance from Santa at City Hall. * **Return of the Westerville Christmas Parade,** at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Staged by a new group this year, Good For Westerville, the parade will step off from St. Paul Church, 303 N. State St., and conclude at Walnut Street, said Good for Westerville Executive Director Rhi Bailey said. Bailey asked that, as residents attending the parade bring along canned or dry good food donation for the Westerville Area Resource Ministry food pantry. Hot cocoa stations and donation boxes for the food donations to WARM will dot the parade route. Santa will ride on a vintage fire truck at the end of the procession, and families are invited to get photos with Santa afterward at COhatch Westerville, 240 S. It’s going to be Madness Uptown for October Fourth Friday # It’s going to be Madness Uptown for October Fourth Friday Oct 21, 2025 The final Fourth Friday Street Festival of 2025 is set for this week, and madness will reign across historic Uptown – in a good way. Uptown Westerville Inc.’s special **Midnight Madness** version of the Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Fourth Friday – our annual prelude to Halloween – is set for 6-9 p.m. Oct. 24. Festival-goers young and old are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes. Many of the approximate 100 street vendors at the Fourth Friday will have candy for early trick-or-treating. Many Uptown merchants also will be decked out in their ghoul-iest best, and offering extended shopping hours for the Midnight Madness Fourth Friday. As usual, State Street will be closed for the street festival between Walnut and Home streets. Live entertainment and specialty interest areas again will dot the whole Uptown historic district. fourth-friday-dancers-2022-GG ## Highlights Oct. 24 will include * **Westerville BMX Club members** will show off their bikes with demonstrations near the Music & Arts Store, 43 N. State St. * **An Amped up Science Street** will set up along State Street between the Westerville Public Library and Dairy Queen. The Courts Family with Boo Bubbles and an Electrostatic generator, curbside COSI Connects and the Westerville CHAT (Community Health Action Team) will be on hand for interactive science lessons for students. Science Street is sponsored by The Westerville Fund. * **Westerville Symphony** members will set up and perform near the northwest corner of West Main and State streets. For the Midnight Madness Fourth Friday, the symphony setlist will includes tunes from _Wicked_ and Halloween favorites. * **The Otterbein Band** will perform at 6:15 and 7 p.m. near Rotary Park and the Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State St. * **The Uptown Westerville Inc. tent** will be giving away Midnight Madness trinkets, including a Halloween finger light and lighted floral crowns. Look for the UWI at the corner of Park and State streets, near Hanby Elementary. * **The Hanby School front patio, 56 S. State St.** will feature DJ Matt Ryan and a Monster Mash Dance Party. No lighted dance floor will be featured this year due to a lack of space, but DJ Matt is bringing special lighting! * **Westerville Public Library –** The library’s Wizards and Wands Festival will be in full magical bloom. Stop by at 126 S. State St. to catch special activities inside the library and on the lawn outside. * **Generations Performance Arts Center** students will present dance performances from 6-9 p.m. in front of the studio, 11 W. College Ave. * **Balloons bonanza** : Entertainers from PhilUP Balloons will twist wows for kids and festival-goers near Jimmy V’s Grill & Pub, 1 S. Highlights Sept. 26 will include: ### Concert The Fabulous Johnson Brothers will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in front of Hanby Elementary School, 56 S. The final Market of the year will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27, on the campus of COhatch Westerville and the North High Brewing Taproom, 240 S. State St. Held for several years in the parking lots behind Westerville City Hall, 21 S. State St., the Market was displaced by the City Hall expansion project for this year. State St. Elsewhere through historic Uptown, the August Fourth Friday celebration, presented by Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, will close State Street to vehicular traffic between Walnut Street and Home Street from 6-9 p.m. And the whole district will become an entertainment and shopping destination with more than 100 street vendors, food trucks, roving entertainers and specialty interest areas. Join us Friday as we come together as a community for fun, shopping, music, dance, art, science, the Uptown DORA, and more! And of course, Uptown’s popular eateries, retail establishments and art galleries will be open for the fun, too. ## A few of the planned Aug. 22 Fourth Friday highlights ### Rockhouse Rockhouse brings “iconic rock anthems and hair band hits” with “a show jam-packed with all of the fist-pumping, danceable rock hits from the decade that was built on hairspray and spandex,” according to the band’s website. Rockhouse features Doug Blessing on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Gregg Pruett on bass and vocals, Kevin “Stretch” O’Connor on guitars and vocals, Bob Klein on drums and Matt “Bon Piper” Boggs on bagpipes, covering the biggest hits from bands including Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Journey, Poison, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ratt and Kiss. “Our goal is to transport the crowd back in time, and to get them to raise their hands in the air while they sing along to their favorite songs of the era. We are BIG on crowd participation, so EVERYBODY gets to rock right along with us!” according to the band’s site. “We love finding ways to get the crowd involved, and keep them engaged with dazzling lights, choreography, sing-alongs, confetti cannons, and customized LED smoke geysers. It truly is a ROCK Experience!” ### Pop up ‘Silly Things’ Good Medicine Productions troop members will stage pop-up performances of its latest production, _10 Silly Things in 20 Silly Minutes,_ near the large tree between Jimmy V’s and the rear of Westerville City Hall, 21 S. State St. Look for Good Medicine actors in the Fourth Friday crowd near the College-State Street intersection, soliciting your attendance at the ‘Silly Things’ performances! ### Arts Alley **Arts Alley** presented by the Arts Council of Westerville will set up in the parking lot of Fattey Beer/Fox in the Snow at 79 S. COSI will bring its mobile “Curbside COSI Connects” science exhibit and hands-on demonstrations. Science Street at UWI’s Fourth Fridays is sponsored for 2025 by The Westerville Fund. ### Inflatables fun at Generation As is customary for August, dancers from the Generations Performing Arts Center, 11 W. College Ave., will rest their dancing shoes Aug. 22, taking a one-month hiatus from student performances at Fourth Fridays. But young festivalgoers still are invited to stop by, and play on inflatable toys that will be set up along College Avenue in front of the studio Aug. 22. ### Matt Ryan Matt Ryan Mobile DJ Entertainment will set up with music and games to entertain at Rotary Park, at the southeast corner of Home and State streets. Near the same location, catch bike riding demonstrations by members of Westerville BMX. ### Westerville Symphony Westerville Symphony members will set up and perform near the northwest corner of West Main and State streets. ### Pet First Aid Station My Vet Animal Hospital, 568 S. Cleveland Ave., will set up a **Pet First Aid Station** along State Street, south of Dairy Queen and north of the library. State Street will close to vehicular traffic across historic Uptown – from Walnut Street on the south to Home Street on the north – as the whole district becomes the site of Westerville’s monthly Fourth Friday street festival, presented by Mount Carmel-St. Ann’s Hospital. Food trucks, more than 100 popup vendor tents, and various interest areas will dot the street party. And of course, Uptown’s great restaurants and pubs are always hopping for Fourth Friday, offering those 21-and-older the availability of Uptown’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area to stroll about with adult beverages. Most of the district’s retail shops also are open for Fourth Friday visitors. Below are just a few highlights of what’s planned for the July 25 Fourth Friday. Come on out to the street party in historic Uptown to explore for yourself! ## Newman Summer Concert Series **Three Ton Toad** will headline Fourth Friday’s **Newman Roofing Summer Concert Series **from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The concert series takes place this year takes place in front of Hanby Elementary School, 56 S. State St., due to construction on the expansion of Westerville City Hall. The high-energy band bills itself as, “one of Columbus’ premier party bands,” on its website. “What makes us different? It’s simple. … We rock, and we bring a good time! We keep it fresh, we keep it real, and we welcome all who want to party with us!” ## Uptown Pharmacy celebrates 150 years The local landmark Uptown Pharmacy, 23 N. State St., will mark an amazing century-and-a-half in business with special **150th Anniversary Celebration** from 5-8 p.m. July 25. State St. (at the southwest corner of State and Park streets, across from Dairy Queen). Arts Alley has crafts for kids, artists with their work on display, and live music. The featured Arts Alley musical act July 25 will be Westerville favorite, The Brickwalk Nights. Formed from a jam session at Java Central Café, The Brickwalk Nights features Brady Fulton as lead vocalist and ukelele player, Carlton Hockaday as featured vocalist and lead guitarist, Noah Thompson on percussion and Dan Thompson on string bass. Their eclectic program includes their own versions of oldies and current songs, Irish tunes and originals. ## Art exhibit at The Giving Room A new exhibit of art by local Steven Kenworthy will officially open with a reception from 6-10 p.m. July 25 at The Giving Room by Westerville Florist, 16 S. State St. Stop by to say hello and check out Kenworthy’s fantastic artwork. ## Professional entertainers **The Bubble Man returns** : Ringling Bros. alumnus Logan Jimenez will be back at Fourth Friday July 25 with his giant bubble entertainment. **DJ:Matt Ryan** of Mobile DJ Entertainment will queue up music and emcee games geared for young people at Uptown’s Rotary Park — the pocket park located at the southeast corner of State and Home streets, adjacent to the Columbus Running Company, 50 N. State St. ## COSI on Science Street **Science Street featuring COSI and Jack Brown:** Columbus Center of Science and Industry will bring its traveling show to the July 25 Fourth Friday, setting up along East College Avenue. The amazing Westerville scientist Jack Brown also will be on Science Street, with engaging, hands-on, STEAM-focused demonstrations and activities. (STEAM education = Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.) Science Street is sponsored by The Westerville Fund. ## Fourth Friday bike parking Free bicycle parking again will be offered for the July 25 Fourth Friday behind Los Altos Mexican Bar and Grill, 8 N.
