Young and fresh, well balanced and easy drinking. After a while in the glass, the signature ”South African aromas” appeared that I usually describe as a meaty earth aroma that I sometimes find in wines from there.

That being said, I didn’t have high hopes for the wine. Aromas of dark cherries, cooked raspberries, some herbs hanging out in the background along with dried orange zest.

I still have a hard time getting past the fact that this wine comes in a can, but on the other hand; it’s super convenient if you want to share two glasses or drink the whole can in front of the TV on a Friday night.

Robert Mondavi, Private Selection Chardonnay, 2022

Classic California oak-chip-style Chardonnay. The wine needs air to balance out the alcohol and the acidity that throw things off initially. Could end up on rotation as a house wine.
