Nicholas, our gallery cat, loved to meet visitors from all over to our historic corner of the world in Dover Delaware. This was taken last July. We love Independence Day. Nicholas was a fabulous black cat who lived in gallery for almost 12 years. Rest in Peace.

Today was first day without our buddy, Nicholas. He was best #gallerycat #blackcat #cat who was in a shop full-time ever. We are thankful he has a short illness and that he is at peace now and out of pain. We will always remember him and how great an asset he was to our small business and the joy.

Our Nicholas, the sweetest #gallerycat on the planet is gone now. There was simply nothing to be done to help his suffering so the vet said it was best to let him go. This is early photo. He’ll so be missed & we’ll share some of cutest photos. Rest in Peace, sweet boy. So so many will miss you. 💔🐈‍⬛💔

Nicholas is our #gallerycat. He’a a large black cat that my best friend has as a house cat along with four others when she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. No one would adopt him so I brought him to the gallery. We named him after the first signer of the ratification of the Constitution who lived in Kent County, Nicholas Ridgely. His name is on the bronze plaque on the building which was part of the bicentennial celebration. When you visit Nicholas or the gallery, you are walking in footsteps of history. I’ll tell you all about it. And you get to hear it from me, a real artist/writer who has been telling Delaware’s history for decades. Made a little along the way too. So visit Nicholas and me. He’s about 17 now and has been here like 12 years. I’m painting him from this photo I took about 5 years ago. Just sold another smaller one of him this past week. Always try to keep a couple of #paintings of him around as #blackcats rule! Excuse my mess… I am not neat and Nichokas needs places to hide out and catch a nap or two!

I maintain a gallery and studio space on a historic site in Dover Delaware where Delaware became the first state when we ratified the constitution. The woman who owned The Golden Fleece Tavern is the only reason they know the 30 revolutionary guys met here because they didn’t pay their bar tab. lol.
