4/ These are 🚨results: social isolation raises risk for death in older adults with COPD!

What’s out there to help improve social isolation?

We must ensure that we have the interprofessional #geripulm and #pallipulm support interventions in place for this vulnerable population asap!

3/ In this cross country collab between our #geripulm teams at UCSF & UAB led by our rising star mentee, Dr. Angela Suen, we again used the Health & Retirement Study to demonstrate that social isolation was independently associated with an increased risk of death & reduced survival time in COPD.
