having said all that, Kingston itself was such a major character in the show, taking the setting away from Jamaica wouldn't have the same vibes.
the final episode and scenes filmed in London for this season alone felt so out of place, ngl.

even if we don't end up getting further seasons of #GetMillieBlack set in Jamaica or even with the same cast, I wouldn't mind seeing a spinoff set in London, covering Millie's childhood there and her early years in the Met with Meera as her partner. 🙏

Also who is watching #GetMillieBlack? The show is doing what a lot of us want which is to hire actresses and actors who actually have what you’re looking for and not just general location accent.

Just watched the whole series (so far!) this morning. Love it love it love it!! The characters are so compelling and I'm glad that they didn't dumb down the dialogue for people unfamiliar with the dialect. I was pausing to googling words and expressions throughout. #getmillieblack #season2please

I've just finished watching all 5 episodes. With hardly a break.
Marlon James has scored a blinder with this drama.
It will haunt me for a good time.
Excellent TV thriller, well crafted, beautifully acted, deep story lines.
Top drawer stuff.

So, @channel4tv.bsky.social, I'm curious as to why the widely lauded #GetMillieBlack has been pushed back to 10pm this week by *checks notes* 'George Clarke' and '24 Hours in A&E'. One an 8pm show, the other at 11pm.
This is class, peak prime time drama & you shove it to 10pm. Touch of...racism?

Not sure if it was originally the plan but see #GetMillieBlack is yet another C4 drama that starts out at 9pm, gets oushed to 10pm and ends up finishing in an 11pm slot. It's been the case with almost every C4 drama in recent years.

Telly update. Watching #CornerGas on Th’Amazons which is great but my god the ads are excruciating. Prior watched #ZeroDay (intriguing) and #GetMillieBlack, which was Death in Paradise written by David Simon, only much better than that sounds. Those ads though: awful #RichardWatchesTheTelly
