Male #GiantDeer are very common in natural history #museums, but you will hardly ever see a female. This isn't just because museums are biased towards male specimens, but also because male giant deer are naturally far more common in the #fossil record.

An Irish elk or Megaloceros is being chased by a pack of wolves upon a moonlit meadow. Its antlers are tall and broad, shaped like upturned hands with wide palms and pointed fingers. Six brown wolves are ranged along the skyline behind, and the elk turns its head to look as their leader races in from the rear. The full moon illuminates the clouds overhead.
