My GMRS and Ham radio that I practice with. One day I'll buy a Yaseu or Kenwood though. Wouxun for GMRS is excellent. The badge is just good to learn and not expensive.

The back view of the board assembly from the previous post. It doesn't really snow much more except you can see how the standard power cable plugs into the back of the power supply, and the antenna plugs into the back of the radio, also using a very standard UHF connector.

Left three-quarters view of the radio board, with the GMRS mobile base station radio on the left, a gap in between with power connectors and microphone, and the power supply with 3D-printed extended housing and power switch on the right. This arrangement separates the antenna cord from the AC power cord - both are connected and leading out the back - as much as possible. The AC power cord also has a ferrite serving as an RF choke on it. The power switch is on and glowing green, and the radio is also on and in scan mode.
Right three-quarter view of the same assembly, but with the microphone off the 3D-printed microphone clip, so it can be seen. Also visible in this view is the retention clip for the DC power cables at the back of the board, and the new white handle on the bamboo retention stick which helps hold the power supply extended housing to the main body of the power supply.
I made a board for the radya so I can carry it all around at the same time, more or less. ^_^
Mostly I did this last night but I had to reprint the microphone clip this morning for a better fit, and attached it before eating lunch, so... here it is! […]

The box extension previously shown here in a complete print form, with the power sockets and switch installed. The switch is in the "on" position and a little green light built into the switch shows DC power out is working.

i think i can work out a reasonable path up there with a weedeater, but the problem is there are a bunch of trees at the hilltop and i don't know how much radio that'll eat
