ANTHONY FARINDON
(1598-1658)
"SERMON IX THE LOVE OF MERCY"
"And here though miracles be ceased, yet this, by the blessing of the God of mercy, retaineth a miraculous power, healeth the sick, bindeth up the wounded, raiseth the poor out of the dust, and in a manner the dead to life again, upholdeth the drooping and fainting spirit which is ready to fail, intercedeth and fighteth against the cruelty of persecutors, filleth up the breaches which they make, raiseth up that which they ruin, clotheth the naked whom they have stripped, buildeth up what they have pulled down, and is as a quickening power and a resurrection to those whom the hand of wickedness and injustice hath laid low and even buried in the dust."

Anthony Farindon, #Anglican minister, says God miraculously blesses acts of mercy for the poor, sick, but also resisting the unmerciful in their ruining and stripping things.

How can you do things that would be blessed by a God of mercy?
