A Kakapo named Sirocco posing for photographer James Coleman. This is a large green and tawny colored flightless bird native to New Zealand. Its bill and feet are primarily gray with a tawny tan coloring on most of its face. Since they are ground dwelling, their feet are thick and large which also helps to support their heavy body weight. Honeycreepers are some of the most beautiful birds that are indigenous to Hawaii. Today, there's are only 17 species left with under 200 individuals in each species set.
