Wanted to experiment with shading/rendering techniques for Amaryllis' wax bubbles and such, but it ended up turning into something pretty neat. I'm glad this snake continues being stuck in my brain for art ideas X3

ref sheet of Amaryllis, a San Francisco garter snake crossed with a lava lamp They/It pronouns body has 3 layers of stripes from spine to belly, in order blue clear blue belly also clear, clear sections show dark green fluid and orange wax bubbles head is orange on top and blue at the jaw, with pink tongue and green eyes A series of text blocks add detail length/size is variable, but proportions stay relatively constant avg head:body ratio ~1:30, but body is stretchy and can be elongated artificially minimum total length 31cm, no max length pupils are circular, can constrict and dilate completely eyes glow in the dark, letting out more light when dilated eyes shine concentrated beams of light when constricted clear sections get wider as body gets thicker blue sections stay relatively the same width orange wax bubbles are inside body usually moving towards tail, bubbles out of head body is covered in clear, shiny membrane of scales scale pattern only visible in light whole body is squishy and stretchy belly scales are narrow at high detail but can be simplified to fewer evenly spaced lines transparent to show contents soft light emitted from clear sections wax illuminated by lights inside blue stripes tail is truncated cone, like cap on a lava lamp made out of same material as blue stripes inside always full of collected wax, so isn't visible inside of mouth is soft, clear, slippery membrane can see lava lamp bubbles inside mouth fluid denser in head, can't see all the way through can see inside of lower jaw no teeth no throat unless swallowing swallowed objects directly enter internal fluid space tongue invisible unless extended consumed objects are converted to wax over time main/accent color of object is color of wax wax moves slower and in larger clumps when body is cold when cold enough, wax will move towards head instead can project wax constructs outside of body used to hold/manipulate things constructs emerge from surface of body are reabsorbed when done
