Isabelle the Wide finally lambed on Thursday. I had been watching her for weeks wondering if she might have triplets. Nope—just twins. One girl and one boy. I’m up to seven ram lambs and three ewe lambs. I think I have three more moms to go, two of which should be in about ten days.

I think my Isabelle might be in early labor. Sometimes these ewes trick me in thinking they might be in pre-labor. The ram I had with them last fall was young and gave me false indications. However, tomorrow would line up with one of her possible due dates. Here she is this afternoon. #gotlandsheep
I tried to get a picture of Ebony yesterday (one of the Gotland ewes rehomed to me last January), but she’s so social I couldn’t get enough distance from her to get a photo! They are such a silly, personable, curious breed. #gotlandsheep
These Gotland sheep were demanding today. Isabelle was practically head butting me when I used one hand to stop petting & hit record. If you are thinking of adding sheep, I highly recommend them. They’re personable, mid-sized, beautiful wool & add hours of entertainment. Easy keepers.

For that reason, he hates when I shear his hindquarters. He also anticipates that I’m going to give him a vaccine. Poor buddy. He did well enough and the other sheep spent time inspecting him after his haircut. Those other fat girls out there are next!
