I built a board in a photo frame for #Greathelm using some 3d printed cobbles. I wanted this to be flatter than my last board for placing bigger terrain like ruins or buildings, but to also look cool without terrain. I'm pretty happy with it #nerdlings

Played my first (solo) tryout game of #greathelm and I was a big fan. I can see it being carnage with 6 knights per side (and an opponent!)
It was fairly evenly matched until it was down to two knights, then one failed a Courage test due to the gore generated by the guy that HE gruesomely slayed!

Work on the second yellow knight for #greathelm continues.
I cleaned up the surcoat with Vallejo Game Color Moon Yellow, added some gold details on the sword and helmet, and painted in the straps with Citadel Snakebite Leather Contrast Paint.

Used my (nearly finished) d66 heraldry tables to generate the escutcheon for my second #greathelm knight.
I got "or, a cross moline gules."
That is, an undivided yellow shield with a red moline cross.

Currently reading "A Complete Guide to Heraldry" by Arthur Charles Fox-Davies — published in 1909 — in order to come up with shield designs for these #GREATHELM knights.
Started the second #greathelm knight tonight.
Metallics first. This is Vallejo Game Color Chainmail Silver over the zenithal spray prime, with Citadel Basilicanum Grey Contrast Paint for shading.
Next is clean up with Dead White, and then the straps and tabard.

Damn, yellow is a hard color to paint. 😤 Luckily I shook the shit out of the paint, and it seemed to cover decently.
Apart from the shield — which needs a secondary color — I'm calling this done.

Apart from the metals, this is all Citadel Contrast Paint over a zenithal spray paint base. And even the metals have Contrast Paint over them.
