The book is opened and turned to the table of contents page. The contents page is designed as a grid of squares, each labeled with the chapter number and the page range of those chapters. For example, chapter 8 ranges from page 122 to 141. Also within each square is a black circle with a white icon inside each. The icons show different objects, such as a toaster, a bra, a bank, a bowl of cereal, etc.
Looking at the top edge of the book, we can see a close up of the hand sewn endband that sits at the top of the book’s spine. The endband is sewn in shiny brown cotton thread.
