A shot of the cat coming out of one of his favourite climbing trees. There's almost two metres between the ground and the first spot up in the tree where he can sit, or even get a hold. So the first two metres is just almost vertical trunk. The cat doesn't jump all the way but tries to 'walk' as far down as he can. I guess his nails get some purchase on the bark? Still, it's almost as fast as falling, so I was incredibly lucky to get this shot. A nicely sharp image of the cat, butt up and the tail almost horizontal, pointing to the right. His head is down but stretched, so he no doubt looks at the bit of ground where he will land within a second. His left and right hind paws are still touching the tree; as does the right front paw. The left front leg is already curled up. The cat will launch himself in a few micro-seconds.

Sometimes, you get lucky.

I was sitting in my new hanging chair and the cat had climbed the tree to spy on me from a higher branch.
So, I was absurdly lucky to catch him on the way down.
