Jazz trumpeter Harry “Sweets” Edison was born 10/10/1915. He was an integral member of the original Count Basie band, who could swing the blues and shape lyrical ballads. Over the years, he worked with Lester Young, Frank Sinatra, Lockjaw Davis, and Ben Webster.
