Down in Virginia's #HD49, we saw a very close race in a Trump+8 district. That's where Republican Danville City Councilman Madison Whittle beat his fellow City Councilman Gary Miller by six points.

Miller ran even with Spanberger despite no outside help from the state Dems!

Austin Rep. Lloyd Doggett will run for reelection after court blocks Texas' congressional map The longtime Austin Democrat had previously said he would not seek reelection if the state's newly drawn congressional map, which favors Republicans, went into effect.

Excited that @doggett.house.gov will continue to represent and serve the people of Austin. A federal court overruled Trump's brazen power grab that would also gerrymander Rep. Doggett out of his home district. Democracy and Austin win, MAGA extremists lose.

Danville, South Boston, Halifax County, Pittsylvania County, the Democratic candidate running for #HD49 is Gary Miller. He’s a local doctor & a member of the Danville city council.

Virginia's #HD49 has been a very under-the-radar type of race this year, but there's reasons to believe it's interesting.

This Danville-based district backed Trump by 8, but has a retiring GOP incumbent and a Democrat who's been backed by the state police union

Virginia's #HD49 is a dark horse district to watch this November. This Trump+8 district in the Danville area doesn't seem like it, but it's got upset potential.

It's more Democratic downballot and features a Democratic nominee who was endorsed by the state police union.
