Didn't think you could make Hellboy boring, but that happens when you cast an actor with negative charisma. The CG is equally terrible, but I think what really breaks this adaptation is the horrendous editing, which leaves the plot confusing and convoluted #filmsky

The story just never reaches the same levels as the visual aesthetics. And even though I doubt it would've saved the film either ubt let's face it #HellboyTheCrookedMan could've used a helluva lot more charismatic lead even if Hellboy's still quite young in this film. 📽️🎞️

Even though #HellboyTheCrookedMan admittedly looks aesthetically quite good at times it ultimately still ends up feeling too much like just a small budget B horror movie (and I'm not saying that just because some of the CGi is a bit shoddy!). 📽️🎞️
#Jacktober Day 30, Movie 64. A #firsttimewatch.
#HellboyTheCrookedMan is a smaller movie than its predecessors - that's a feature, not a bug. I thought #JackKesy was a good Big Red, in a faithful adaptation of one of my favorite #MikeMignola stories.
Watched on Hulu.

Finally watching "Hellboy: The Crooked Man" (after I purchased it months ago).
I was delighted to see Jefferson White (Jimmy from "Yellowstone") pop up as a member of the cast. Let's see if he's as good in this film as he is on that television show.

While I'll always love the Del Toro films for exploring the pulp adventure/dark fantasy roots of the Hellboy lore, this one REALLY went pretty hard with the horror aspect, especially with the Appalachian setting/folklore - spooky good stuff! 🎥😈🏞️🎩💰💀😱😃 #HellboyTheCrookedMan
So I enjoyed #HellboyTheCrookedMan for what it was (low budget supernatural Appalachian horror) but I can’t get over how much I loved all the practical locations in this & the EVIL DEAD meets X-FILES vibes. Could’ve been a lot better but I dug it, definitely not the worst Hellboy movie by a stretch🤷🏻
