...my K4KIO hexbeam that I put up this summer just survived its first big winter storm in Northern California. Woke up to hearing about floods, trees down, etc...but she stood tall throughout it. It's on a Rohn pushup mast.

Here's a comparison between my Hexbeam antenna and my 240' doublet. The station is Ravi S79VU (Seychelles in the Indian Ocean). I had a QSO with him just before taking this short video. Very good band conditions today!

Hexbeam (K4KIO) installation coming along. Rotator installed and 34’ push-up mast in place. Mast is 3’ off the ground in the mini-tower, so a total height of 37’ (at the baseplate of the Hexbeam). The 20M elements will be 3’ above the baseplate for a total height of 40’ on 20M. #hexbeam #hamradio
