I used @ktrey.bsky.social Wilderness Stocking (Expanded) tables for an 'edge of map' hex to support the #hexcrawl25 campaign - the nested links to the vast library of pre-existing tables makes it a joy to use.

Even though one of the documents I planned for #hexcrawl25 isn’t done, the main assignment is. Behold _The Apocalyptic Portal of Delta Pavonis II_: wordmanward.itch.io/delta-pavoni...
The world I built has _Thundarr_ vibes, if you want them.
Free as always.
Retrospective on #hexcrawl25 - this more structured challenge from @maatlock.bsky.social suited me well and was a fun chassis to test others hexcrawl/hexmap blog ideas

Fed 27 sessions of hexcrawling so far and will continue in '26

#hexcrawl25 complete overview map. During vacation I hope to expand the smaller maps
Dungeons. Towns. Factions. Quest lines. #dnd #osr #ttrpg
Stack of papers with a filled in hex-grid in the center, multiple half-done and partially complete hexmaps behind it and a stack of TTRPG session notes beneath.
Finished #hexcrawl25 - all 319 hexes. Write ups yet do and last session for this year to play, but strictly done.
Thanks to @maatlock.bsky.social for a fun challenge!

5 things I learned b/c of #hexcrawl25 no.5 - I learned more Baltic history, town and river names, battle formations, mythology, pantheons and more than I ever thought I could. I have impressed locals with this knowledge, and I am excited to learn even more. Makes me appreciate good museum curators.
5 things I learned b/c of #hexcrawl25 no.4 - This is a very niche side of a niche hobby that my parents don't understand, but they are proud of my efforts and my Mum did some calligraphy for a module. My wife refers to it collectively as my "pencil stuff" and she is sad when I don't do it.
Five things I learned b/c of #hexcrawl25 no.3 - What needs to be written to run it vs what needs to be written for someone else to run it. I have written multi session adventure lines that were 4 dot points on the back of a receipt. Happily making up stuff as I went.
Five things I learned b/c of #hexcrawl25 no.2 - The value of well purposed factions. The why, the how, the when, the back story. Factions can be such a game changer for everything and are perfect for a location based adventure. Every run through is different.
At the start of #hexcrawl25 I thought - "This won't take long" I finished the overview by August, the actual work began. This may take years to "finish". Maybe the point was never to "finish" But just to make. To write, draw, imagine, create bowls for amazing soup stories to reside in.
Five things I learned b/c of #hexcrawl25 no.1 - How to draw maps. Until this year I have drawn maps, but never ones that were good looking. Just practical lines for me to follow as the GM. This year I drew many different styles for different locations and am quite proud of some of my output.
The work done on creating this world for #Hexcrawl25 just makes me so happy. It's a wonder to behold!
Scramble to the end of #hexcrawl25 challenge from @maatlock.bsky.social - from 10% down to on target with 1. interference from the neighbour hexes, 2. harbingers of the out-of-hex threats and 3. stuff from play at the table

They say a long-dead saint is buried here. Among his many miracles, it is said that he could breathe underwater.
Maybe his legend is not entirely true. Maybe he is not really dead, and is waiting for someone to let him out.

The final #Hexcrawl25 update is complete!
Thank you for following along!
Day 319 of #Hexcrawl25 brings us to the last hex of all, completing overhex S, but I’m going to make you wait until tomorrow for the last update to the world map and debrief!
Day 318 of #Hexcrawl25 gives us the next-to-last hex, which includes a towering structure maybe a mile high!
For the antepenultimate hex, day 317 of #Hexcrawl25 takes us to a secluded valley with a lovely scenic waterfall.
Day 316 of #Hexcrawl25 brings up to a sleepy village known for decorative embroidery. Only three hexes to go!
Day 315 of #Hexcrawl25 gives a temple town on the shore of the reservoir, with only FOUR hexes to go!
Day 314 of #Hexcrawl25 brings us to a mountain range that has been forever impacted by monster-on-monster violence.
A hobgoblin army came from the south long ago. They were defeated, but the remaining goblinoids took over the castle and never let go.
Now they roam the wetlands, feeding on giant snails as their cattle. But they're always on the hunt for more... red meat.

Day 313 of #Hexcrawl25 explores a narrow strait of dangerous water!
Day 312 of #Hexcrawl25 leaves us on a big island with a few people, maybe we’re all lost? Onto the final week!
Day 311 of #Hexcrawl25 takes us offshore, to some interesting islands and the remainder of the giant structure.
Day 310 of #Hexcrawl25 features the largest structure of the entire world (so far, I guess, but with less than a dozen hexes remaining, odds are likely).
Session report - a hexcrawling session of three parts - crawling the hexes, poking the bees, clinging to the unexpectedly airborne pack-lizard.

Day 309 of #Hexcrawl25 brings us to the far end of a mountain reservoir, that is only the beginning for these rare fish.
Day 308 of #Hexcrawl25 brings us to a career dead-end at the far end of an expansionist nation.
Day 307 of #Hexcrawl25 goes downhill pretty quickly, with a surprise Lost World rainforest.
