A glowing tendril stretches from the Hexcore to his forearm, the tip just grazing his skin. The thing is no more than an inch or two thick, and as Viktor watches, the blood on his arm lifts off in flakes, which slowly drift back along the tether to the Hexcore. He flicks his eyes back to where he bled on the workbench. It’s clean. There’s no sign he ever bled there. Viktor accidentally bleeds on the Hexcore. It decides it wants more.
