Currently working my way through the back episodes of Hi Nay. Too embarrassed to admit how many it took before I realized they were dealing with #tma fears. Now I have so many questions about how it ties into Archives and/or Protocol canon.
Blog post from Motzie Dapul's official blog: I’m working on a Magnus Archives inspired scripted fiction horror podcast that runs with the idea that the “mystical POC” often relegated to side characters or exposition tools in horror media are the protagonists. The main character is a Filipina who recently moved to Toronto and accidentally gets involved with helping two detectives solve supernatural cases because she stops a woman in her apartment building from getting killed by a supernatural entity And her whole thing is that she was basically raised in a babaylan or shaman family in the Philippines and just kinda knows how to deal with this shit And the conceit of the podcast is that everything you hear is recorded audio or phone calls, mainly that of her calling her Nanay or mother about her experiences saving people from the supernatural. It’s called Hi Nay and I’m aiming for a Halloween release for the first few episodes 😊 I’m pretty excited! I wonder if people over here might be interested in it when it comes. A POC led horror podcast title with LGBTQ+ characters, which is par for the course for me, hehe.

Manfred had not been close to the younger Langford, though he had considered himself good friends with his elder brother, Frederich. Naught was said of how young George–beautiful, cherubic, like an old Master’s sculpture come to life–bore no resemblance to any Langford in their line, but Manfred knew better than to dig into family mysteries, lest his own name’s scandals come to light. When the three–Grigori, Renard, and the younger Langford–attempted their coup and failed spectacularly, almost nothing was left of the three, and Sauvard himself, through his loyal Right Hand, concocted a narrative of three drunk men pitching themselves off a bridge on a stormy night. A clean, sensible death, with no bodies to recover–washed out to sea.
Manfred called upon the Langford household after the tragic accident, and found the master of the house–Frederich–a husk of a man. Clothes torn, hair lank, red-eyed and unshaven, when he was not giving short, terse answers to Manfred’s attempts at conversation, he muttered to himself the same configuration of words, spoken through quiet sobs: Beloved, he cried. Sweet George. My love, my love, my poor love. It disturbed Manfred to his core, and he would remember Frederich’s sunken eyes long after the man himself passed, withering away from grief within the year.
