A gallon fermenting jar freshly packed with bright green snacking cucumbers. Also in the jar is a simple brine, dill seed, peppercorns, #Penzeys picking spice, and a bed of fresh garlic slices.
This is the same jar of pickled cucumbers after one week of fermentation in a cool, dry place. The bright green has mellowed to a light yellow-green. The brine has become cloudy as the cucumbers shrank. Floating up to mingle with them are the garlic slices and delicious Penzeys pickling spices.
I'm glad I finally bit the bullet and #fermented some #homemade_pickles. These are done and delicious! They're subtly sour, slightly salty, pleasantly garlicky, and pretty crunchy. I'm also thrilled with the flavors imparted by the dill seed, peppercorns, and #Penzeys pickling spiceβ£οΈ
