A USAF F-15C Eagle from 173rd fighter wing, Kingsley Field based in Oregon banks hard left after taking off from Airshow London to return back home. Wingtip vortices are visible, as are vapours from the beginning of a sharp turn. The Eagle is facing the photographer, and exhaust jelly is present all over the image. The Eagle is very low, such that a third of the jet is at or below the tree line in the horizon.

#honourablemention: F-15C Departure: With so many moments this year, I couldn't forget about this gem from departure day at Airshow London, when a 173rd Fighter Wing F-15C banked sharply after takeoff producing vapes just above ground level.

An Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) flies directly over our Zodiac pelagic sight seeing tour boat in the misty rain. This was one of four flying loosely together. Arctic Terns have the longest migration route in the world, moving from the arctic to the antarctic.

#honourablemention: Arctic Tern: On that same pelagic trip, we had a surprise in the form of 4 Arctic Terns that flew overhead in the rain. Our tour guide powered up the Zodiac and attempted to chase, but just as quick as they flew over, they disappeared into the ether.
