A micron pen laid out next to an original black and white ink illustration for scale. The illustration is an A4 sized detailed stark piece, utilizing an inked stippling technique. The artwork is based on the 1925 'Phantom of the Opera' film. Lon Chaney in full Phantom makeup looms large in the piece, his hands in contorted monstrous gestures. The Red Death iteration lurking behind him, fading into a swirling background depicting elements from the film: Mary Philbin as Christine Daae, a member of the theater sitting on a large skull prop, architectural elements of the Opera itself.
