Between the ears of Zil, my bay Arabian mare on a red dirt trail through Mormon tea, juniper and sage. Between the ears are distant red cliff formations under a cloudless blue sky.
There is a whale! To the left of Zil’s head. She has an ear cocked toward a large rock resting on a small rock, the formation bigger than her and shaped like a whale with a gaping mouth.
