Pleased to meet hospice staff in Parliament for #HospiceCareWeek. Hospices are on the brink, and time is running out to deliver the changes needed to prevent further cuts. As #Woking’s MP, I support Shooting Star Chase and Woking & Sam Beare hospices.

This week in Parliament I was pleased to attend Hospice UK’s event for #HospiceCareWeek. In Somerset palliative care patients have tripled since 2010. The Government must commit to ending the postcode lottery by funding rural areas based on demand to help hospices continue delivering essential care.

Hospices in England are under enormous pressure - rising costs, volatile charitable income, and inadequate government funding are putting vital services at risk. This #HospiceCareWeek, I’m proud to stand with our hospices and recognise the unique and vital care they provide.
