Any other HRCYED heroes on #BookSky? I wrapped my Readathon this week. I did Winterween (and added a spooky graphic novel) inspired by This Is Summerween over on IG #HRCYED
The new video is here! Let's chat about what I've done for HRCYED so far (and the challenges I'm still anxious about.)

#HRCYED update and 2025 wrap-up!
Finished 10 books in October - December, all of which were applicable for HRCYED prompts.
No new prompts completed
3/25 prompts done 📚💙
It’s January 2nd and I haven’t updated my #HRCYED or even general reading stuff in months let alone my 2025 wrap up.
Will do tomorrow after work if I remember. Spoiler alert I read a total of 71 books last year (I don’t find number of things consumed to be a telling metric so it’s free of charge)
God, I’ve been in such a reading slump lately / otherwise very busy. I’ve only read like five or six books in the last two months. Probably won’t update for #HRCYED till the end of December o7
I’ve got some solid titles lined up though so hopefully that’ll help
Graph from Storygraph showing a wrap-up for the month of october. It shows all books read with a cover and rating.
I really ran out of steam towards the middle/end of the month but here is my October wrap-up, most read for #HRCYED
18 books, 3711 pages and an average rating of 3.8

Shout out to the person who commented on my video and reminded me it went live today. 😅
It's time for the first HRCYED update, including my favorite books so far.

My September reading wrap-up!
I mainly read books for #HRCYED during this month.
16 books 5204 pages and an average rating of 4.05 isn't bad if I say so myself.

#HRCYED September update
Finished 8 books last month and used all of them for the challenge. Was (comparatively) a kinda mid month of reads and I kept starting things and not finishing them.
1 prompt completed: Subgenre of Choice

I'm reading Cass Khaw's THE LIBRARY AT HELLEBORE for my "published in July" #hrcyed read. It's strange to want to call something so Wet™ so refreshing, but maybe it's just the satisfaction of reading a novel that feels as rage-filled as you are inside.
Also, I'm watching the movie now (cuz #HRCYED) and MAN I want one of those bright munchkin dresses.

#HRCYED August update
Finished 14 books last month and used all of them for the challenge.
1 prompt completed: Favorite HRCYED1 prompt (would be 2 had I been quicker with my current read)

My September reading is very complicated as I'm combining four different reading challenges!

#HRCYED has me using my day off this week for a ramshackle 24h readathon. Among the titles I expect to finish:
- Joan Didion’s Slouching Towards Bethlehem
- Kevin J Anderson’s Nether Station
- Martha Wells’ All Systems Red
- v.4 and maybe 5 Shuzo Oshimi’s Welcome Back, Alice
#BookSky
Just happened across #HRCYED and I think I’m gonna attempt it*
*With the major tweak of giving myself 2 years (‘25-‘26) because reading 150 books in a year is a recipe for me not doing any critical thinking about what I consume.
75 books per year will be challenge enough for me thanks.
For August's reading, I'm playing someone else's TBR game to fulfil that prompt for the Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do!

I’m reading The Poppy War Trilogy by @rfkuang.bsky.social for my #HRCYED series stairway and I’m glad I have a year to do this challenge. Bc I just read the 1st book and I feel like I need therapy. I need to sit with it. I feel like I’m drowning in a grief that’s real, not merely a story #booksky
I went on a week-long reading retreat to see how many r/Fantasy Book Bingo squares I could complete in seven days! Then also added HRDYED 2.0 (Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do) - and here's how I did!

May have underestimated myself. 6 weeks worth of reading consistently. Definitely gonna exceed this by a lot given I've also started #hrcyed 2.0.
The Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do kicks off on the 7th. #HRCYED I’d like to complete a challenge with the 24hr reading prompt at some point this week:

The beginning of this year I set out to read more of my physical TBR AAAND I haven't been great about it. Maybe joining a reading challenge like #hrcyed will get me motivated again
Five of us staffers at our library have signed on to do the Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do (or HRCYED) in addition to our normal Summer Reading Challenge. Is anyone else out there attempting HRCYED?? #booksky #hrcyed #bookchallenge #summerreading
