Daylily seedling in a plastic pot. The bloom is malformed and has missing petals. The color is a pleasant orange with a yellow midrib and petals have a ruffled edge.

That time I wasn’t paying attention to my seedling trays and accidentally let a four month old daylily bloom. It subsequently died. Fortunately I have several other seedlings from this cross (‘Beautiful Edgings’ x ‘Double Bourbon’) that I can evaluate in the coming years #daylily #hybridizing

'Sun Dragon' (2021) is an exceptional performer and parent. With exceptionally high thrips resistance, 'Sun Dragon' is a very important breeder for improving thrips resistance in domestic hybrid daylilies.
