The ancient city of Iassos is located in Kıyıkışlacık, in the Milas district of Muğla province, Turkey. It is distinguished not only by its ancient ruins but also by its exceptional natural beauty. The remains in the city date back to the 3rd millennium BCE, while the architectural structures are from the 2nd millennium BCE. Between the 9th and 6th centuries BCE, people from Argos, in the northeastern Peloponnese, migrated here and lived in the area for several centuries.
