“Hot.” That was the only word that came to mind when the bartender and Nak Muay called King first laid eyes on one of the new entrants to the King of Fighters tournament. A member of Team K’, the mystery woman was tall — taller than King, even — and clad in a black business suit with a red tie that was a shade brighter than deep crimson hair that was styled in a way that screamed “casual and careless” but probably still took a little effort to get just right anyway. King knew she was staring, but she couldn’t help it. The other woman moved as if in slow motion, the swaying of her curvy hips almost hypnotic as she effortlessly approached the bar at the far end of the venue. *I've written way more than what I've shown here; this is only a small fraction of it.

Trying to revive a long-dead WIP and, honestly? It's not going too well. As fun as this could be, I keep hitting wall after wall. Like, I wanna do something with this, but... gah!

The only people who know your real name — aside from doctors or professionals — are people with whom you feel like you can truly be yourself around; whom you feel safe around. It's when you don't feel entirely comfortable or, in some cases, safe, that you start hiding — like right now. We've broached some very upsetting subjects today, so you've gone from allowing me to call you by your actual name to just 'King.' You feel vulnerable, so you're putting that wall right back into place even though you don't need to." "Yeah, no shit," King spat, agitated, but also amazed by Doctor Shelley's accuracy. "This is a safe space, Cé —" "Don't!"
