I have FINALLY convinced my fam that anything I give or receive, I'd prefer it to be one of these:
1. #experience — walk a trail, hang out, fix a meal #together
2. #impermanent — wine, homemade cookies, muffins, etc, flowers
3. #homemade — photographs, watercolors, sewing (them not me haha)

My fleeting existence, the natural cycle of growth & decay. Grass turns brown, flowers fade, these changes remind me that I too am bound by time. Even my present step, however ordinary, is subject to passing away. Nothing stands still, my body, my experiences, & even the simple act of walking all dissolve in the same rhythm of impermanence.
草枯花落、我亦無常、此行無異。

Grass withers & blossoms fall, showing nature’s cycle of arising & fading. Seeing this, I acknowledge my own impermanence, not separate from the seasons or the passing of life. By saying “this walk is no different,” the act of walking itself is revealed as impermanent, each step arises & vanishes. Nothing is outside this truth. My insight is that all things share the same fleeting nature, equally so.
