Extraordinary people. Extraordinary News
Dearest gentle reader,
‘Tis odd, is it not? The weather has barely cooled but the matching season has come to a close and already families are beginning to depart for their homes in the countryside, or even different countries altogether. As for this author, you would like to know where I find myself these days, would you not?
I may never disclose specifics, but know that I will be resting and honing my skills to bring you only the best next season.
A setting sun over the hills
So many lovely matches to celebrate this season - but some unlucky young ladies have remained behind even as others celebrate. With gazes such as Lord Grymgane’s burning a hole into Lady Petrova’s head as the season draws to a close, this author looks forward to the next season - and wonders if we will enter it with matches managed over the cooler seasons.
And what of our darling Duchess Borel, you may ask? Sadly, dear reader, I do not have eyes in the rolling hills of their Parisian estate. I have seen dear Lady Sagahl - now, Lady Iriq - receive letters penned upon French parchment, though their contents remain private for now.
I shall say, however, that Regent Memoriate has not been seen as the season wound down to its end. They so favored the royal mead served at events hosted by the palace, yet they were not coaxed out to Her Majesty’s final ball of the season.
This author wonders if, against all odds, the Regent has followed Duchess Borel to her estate in Paris ... if so, against my usual nature, I wish them luck. Even this author’s frigid heart was touched by their displays this season, though they were not ever proper.
For now, it is goodbye. Be well, and stay sharp - and I shall be back for you soon.
Ever yours,
Lady Whistledown
Three images:
First: Regent Memoriate looking out to the sunset, a cup of tea beside them.
Second: They are joined by Duchess Sagahl, soft words spoken between them as Dagasi runs her hand across their arm.
Third: Zero gets out of their seat for a passionate kiss, tea long forgotten.
【 day seven - countryside
Newlyweds and established families alike leave the city once the matching season draws to a close, though this author has learned over the years that things are never quite what they seem...
