Recent changed lore but she has an older twin brother. He is an ambitious fellow and is one of the captians for the God's Quiver. He actually really good at archery and a very competent fighter all around. He helped protect Gridania when Iris needed the help fighting off the blasphemies.

Before Steph, there was Gritrot and haurchefant.
Gritrot was her bf before the calamity, who only used her for his own gains and absolutely didn't love her. This made Iris a bit wary about whom she would date/be with.
Haurchefant was the first person to break that shell.

Her preferred method is to write letters but that is mostly because her father and mother are old school. In the case with Stephanivien not being around her, they use a linkpearl that is on a more private line.

She is more like a sibling to them than anything at this point in time. when they were disowned by their own father, she did comfort them and offered her parent's home to clear their mind. Her father did treat them like his own too.

Considering that she moved into the manor while also recovering from her injuries from Ultima Thule she watched and Stephanivien tried to place all her stuff in her new room.

Likewise her ribbon was a gift from her mother when she was a teen. She did lose it for a bit when dealing with Estinien's antics when they first met.

There are parts I am adding to Gridania with a lot of my own HCs because I find what is in game and EE lacking. For example, Flowery names are common in Gridania as the citizenry believe it would bring good luck and prosperity.

Iris loves this black apricot tea when she was growing up in Gridania. As the next countess of House Haillenarte, she did have to get used to their house blend. She might convince them to add apricot to the blend if she could.

She accepts that it's a matter of life in Gridania. She is quite used to them. However, she dislikes how their laws are, especially when their ire towards Duskwrights and Keepers of the Moon seems a bit unjustified.

Stephanivien was sent there when the Exarch made a small mistake when trying to snag Iris with the calling. He was on the first for like a week before Iris appeared and helped out at the Crystalline Mean. Once Iris finally caught up to him, he joined her on the adventure..

Mostly magic based jobs like BLM, WHM, SMN, and RDM are fucky wucky because midgardsommr messed up her aether. Outside of magic she would be horrible as a BRD because she sucks at music to the point she would cause so much damage just for singing/playing an instrument.
