#JasperFires evacuees feel free to stop into Home2Home in Grande Prairie to pick up some of the cute toys that were donated. We also had some toiletries donated as well.

The Municipal District of Bonnyville is offering #JasperFires evacuees free, power campsites at Muriel Lake campground. Sites available now through to the end of September.
Jasperites interested in one of these free sites can book a spot by calling 780-826-3972.

Evacuees from #JasperFires can apply for emergency evacuation payments beginning on July 26, 2024. Emergency Evacuation Payments have been expedited for residents of Jasper only due to reports of damage to the townsite and payments will begin on July 26, 2024.

The two fires - one northeast of Jasper on Highway 16 and one south of Jasper on Highway 93 have merged through the wide Athabasca river valley near the townsite. Fire was contained by the cliff just northwest of the town and spread across the wide valley flats on the eastern side of the Athabasca River. Entry into the Maligne Road area as well as multiple valleys along Highway 93 including Astoria River have been affected by the fire, but the fire mostly stayed in the Athabasca River valley rather than climbing other valleys. Pyramid and Patricia Lakes have also avoided being burned.
Jasper National Park has provided an updated map of the #JasperFires extent on twitter in an evening update.
The 2 fires (which started Monday) have merged into one, covering the whole of the Jasper town valley.
