A collective of design agencies from Scotland’s creative industries scene has played a central role in the Royal Bank of Scotland’s pioneering “The People’s Money” bank notes, with the first in the ‘Fabric of Nature’ series being the £5 note released in 2016 and culminating with the £20 note in 2020. Design consultancy Nile, O Street, Stuco Design and Timorous Beasties are the main agencies to have supported the creative design process for Royal Bank of Scotland, while almost 30 different designers have been involved to date. Timorous Beasties were tasked with illustrating elements of the Scottish natural world; Otters, mackerel, red squirrels and, of course, midgies.

Pledge to bring gene editing to Scotland's farming network England is the only country in the UK that has passed specific laws to enable gene-editing for commercial use in agriculture

“There will be countries all over the world doing the same thing but to be a place where nations can come to get seed, food and drink that doesn’t have any of those concerns is so important, especially if you’re looking at the organic market”

Why buying Scottish food is a quiet vote for the country’s future MORE than 80 of Scots say where their food comes from matters to them, but fewer than half say they are given enough information about where it is…

Businesses which could be doing more can be encouraged to make meaningful changes when we write to customer service departments, speak to managers and vote with our wallets.

Send polite feedback to the shops we buy our food from.

This is good news for Scotland’s #Dairy sector, and good news for Scotland

When we started working to #keepScotlandtheBrand, there were those who derided the issues we raised

It is good to see the campaign for Scotland’s brand - supported by thousands of people - now recognised the UK Government
