Amanda announced a new training programme for clinical and operational leaders to help improve care, productivity and reduce unwarranted variation. This is an improvement approach that can unlock change for patients. #KFLead

@suziebailey.bsky.social asked about challenges/opportunities for the NHS' future. Amanda Pritchard reflects that there is significant pressure from huge demand & that given the financial context there is a real need to get ahead on prevention and innovative ways of providing care. #KFLead

She says that raising the standards of management and investing in leadership is key to delivering high quality care for patients. Leadership in these times requires 'us to empower people at all levels', this means giving people the tools and the encouragement to try new things #KFLead

She adds that the 10 year plan is a real opportunity to think long term & build on some of the great foundations in place, like technology and life sciences. But for her the people who work in the NHS are the real reason to have confidence in the NHS' future #KFLead

She reflected on the last few weeks that have been a 'test of leadership', and that these have been difficult times for colleagues at NHSE and ICBs. #KFLead
