Conferring with Justice Antonio Benjamin of the High Court of Brazil at #CMSCOP15, we discussed the role of the judiciary in translating intergovernmental commitments into national action-- including in halting and reversing biodiversity loss through the #KMGBF implementation.

@cms.int and other Biodiversity-related conventions for coherent implementation and progress towards our common goals.

Nearly two-thirds of the UN CBD Parties have submitted their 7th National Reports by the 28th of February!
🌍 Based on the overall reported development, the first global review of progress under the #KMGBF will be prepared and presented during #COP17 this October.

The @ec.europa.eu ’s 7th National Report on Biodiversity reports 16 out of 45 targets set under the #KMGBF are on track to be achieved, before CBD COP17 this October.
Despite robust framework in place, faster implementation can ensure all 2030 targets are met.
On #IWD2026, we recognize the vital role of women and girls in advancing biodiversity action worldwide.
The #KMGBF highlights this through Target 23, calling for gender equality and the full, equitable and meaningful participation of women & girls in biodiversity decision-making.
Mobilizing finance for biodiversity is essential to meet global commitments under the #KMGBF.
