So, I've been thinking about this post from Glitch. And while the idea of Frankie dreaming of friends can be related to her hallucinations, I think it can also come off from her feeling lonely. But why?
Frankie and Andi are shown to be close friends. Frankie also seems to get along with most people as well. What's making her feel lonely?
I think it can be attributed to a few things. First, she and Andi don't work together so she probably feels alienated from being unable to work with Andi. Second, just because she gets along well with others doesn't always mean those connections are super meaningful. It's possible that Frankie is looking for more friends that feel just as passionate about the friendship as she does. And I think this could lead to a potential third thing which is that most might find Frankie's take on friendship to be childish. It can feel alienating for her that others don't respect the way she thinks friendships should be. And that's not to say that Frankie doesn't or won't have a flawed way of viewing them but she's almost infantilized by Andi already.
There's already hints that Andi doesn't want Frankie to work at/for the Park directly because she's worried that Frankie's view of it will tarnish and she'll be crushed. But Frankie is also an adult woman who should be able to find ways to cope with that disappointment and come to her own conclusions.
I think there's a lot to ponder and speculate on whether Frankie has a desire for more friends and what that means and I really need this series to be greenlit so we can explore that further, even if this entire post ends up being wrong.
