Fan art of Kris and the Discarded Vessel from Deltarune fighting each other. The Vessel has grabbed the SOUL from Kris, and Kris has their hands clamped around the Vessel's head. Both of them are scratched up, the Vessel's scratches not bleeding (it is drawn like a ball-jointed doll). You know why they're called that?" Kris excitedly goes into an infodump, saying "Oh, I know! It's from the motion and sound when they're opened. Also they originated in the Phillipines where they're called balisongs, after one of the villages they were originally made in. They're assembled in layers so that the blade hides in between the bite handle and the safe handle. The safe handle is the only one you should hold because the bite handle closes on the sharp edge of the blade. That one's pretty big but not balisword big. A balisword is a really big butterfly knife, like over 3 feet long kind of big!" Dess replies with "That's sick."

Though this is normal for someone Kris's age, their expression indicates complicated emotions surrounding it (since they are the only human in town, it is yet another visible mark of their differences). Curiously, the acne manifested in a pattern resembling part of the "freedom motif," a leitmotif in Deltarune's soundtrack most associated with the Shadow Crystal bosses (with some exceptions). There is text overlaid by Kris's reflection reading "Only humans get acne. Except for minor forms of acne in dogs and cats, acne does not occur spontaneously in other animals. [...] Whilst there are many types of acne - acne vulgaris accounts for 99% of clinical presentations. Although any age group can be affected by its many variants, acne is primarily a disorder of adolescence with a prevalence of approximately 85% aged 12–25 years [4]. Acne peaks between the ages of 14 and the beginning of the third decade but may persist into or develop de novo in adulthood [5].
