kuwagata has a deep but very soothing voice!! he can be a loud when he laughs, turning into a distant rumble when he lowers his voice. he has a japanese accent and struggles to pronounce some eorzean words properly. he's very polite and a little old fashioned 😌

kuwagata looks a lot like his mother: red skin, black hair, and her physical strength

but personality wise, he's more like his father: kind and thoughtful, friendly, always willing to help those in need, a bit silly... and his father's green limbal rings too (a trait from azem!!)

'Kuwagata' isn't his birth name actually, it's his adult name, the name he chose when he came of age and took over his mother's place as a retainer, as it is the samurai tradition!
only those who knew him as a child know his birth name. it's also rude to call him by his birth name!

so i had been rotating this thought about kuwa forging a katana for tina for her coming of age birthday/ceremony

there's this area in shirogane where fireflies spawn at night, and every time i pass by there i feel so emotional thinking of kuwa reminiscing about his late wife 😭😭😭 (hotarubi means "light of the fireflies".....) #kuwalore
