@glasgowschoolofart.bsky.social turned our Lang Craigs site at #Dumbarton into an open-air gallery. Sculpture and Environmental Art students have been visiting annually for the last decade, to gain experience making their ideas reality in the landscape.

We love it!

3rd yr Sculpture and Environmental Art students from Glasgow School of Art were set loose on #LangCraigs at Dumbarton last week. Every year for the last decade the wood has been used for this exercise when students experience the practicalities of turning their ideas into reality. 🧵 1/3

We are hosting one of Scotland's most unusual and fleeting art exhibitions at our #LangCraigs site by Dumbarton on Wednesday March 19th.

Every year for the last decade the site has been the "canvas" for third year sculpture and environmental art students from Glasgow School of Art.🧵 1/3

It's not the sheep in the foreground, or the snow-capped Ben Lomond in the distance - it's the tree which has grown with a curved trunk due to the pressure from the ever-present prevailing wind!

There's something very Scottish about this view from Lang Craigs, just to the west of Glasgow.

Looking north west towards Loch Lomond. The hills in the foreground are brown from dying bracken, as are the misty hills on the other side of the loch. Ben Lomond has its head in the clouds.

Looking down the Clyde river which is visible in the distance. Rolling hills surround us, and the sky is reasonably blue. In the foreground a small black Labrador looks over her shoulder away from the camera.

Looking due south towards the hills on the far side of the Clyde. The plants in the foreground are dying back, giving this an autumnal tone. The small black Labrador is again in the foreground, peering into the tall grass at the side of the path.

Looking up the hill towards the basalt cliffs above us. Dried grass and happy dog in the foreground, blue sky above.

I have meetings today and tomorrow until 9pm, so we took the dog up a hill on this rare sunny day. #Labrador #Scotland #LangCraigs
