Magnatone G55 - 1 pickup, lap steel guitar made in CA, USA circa 1958. This is a Varsity G55 lap steel/slide guitar made by Magnatone of California in 1958. It features a solid, hardwood body, a mother of pearl finish (MOTS), a translucent red, raised handrest/guardplate, on the bass side of the instrument, red translucent knobs, trapezoidal, red translucent tuning pegs and diamond shaped accent on the headstock. It has a single coil pickup underneath a metal handrest, a fixed metal bridge/tailpiece, a clear plastic fretboard, and a metal nut. The lap steel includes its original hard shell case.
