Neat! Hooked up a 1351 to PS/2 adapter and this TS2068 now has a mouse. Joystick + Mouse + Drives = pretty good little system. I can see why people who stayed with it were able to develop and use the system to its full potential.

Color on the TS2068 is fixed. R33 was loose. Reflowed all the solder points under the can and color is now stable.

TS2068 vs Spectrum game disk stacks. I guess the original owner had a double ROM mod. The manual shows the Larken cart could be moded to have the Speccy ROM onboard. I think I’m going to try this old school mod.

I would have to say overall the TS2068 is competitive for the time. But not surprisingly would have easily been crushed by a C64 or Atari Computer of the time. Unfortunately this one has color issues – so I have some fixing to do on it.

Playing around with the Larken disk interface is interesting. Not the easiest thing to use. But found the programs Omnibus and Hello! On some of the disks that make accessing the disk content much easier.

Dead index sensor. Cap C49 was sitting on a trace and slowly dumped its guts and ate it away. Patched up and this Epson SD-521 is back in business and the TS2068 and Larken now have their 2 drives back.

YES! The Larken disk drive system works. Now to have a look at some of the software on these disks. It’ll be interesting to see how much more the disk drives brought to the TS2068. But looks like one of the drives doesn’t work.

And the stars of the show – The Larken cartridge and Larken disk controller card. The card is supposed to have the DOS and extra memory. And the controller card has a port for Joystick or mouse. Fingers crossed all this still works.

Great news the TS2068 is alive and appears to be working fine. It was very clean inside. This is perfect and allows me dive into this box I picked up from a local old timer who was a diehard TS2068 user back in the day.
