Last of Us Part 2 (PC) Screenshot aus einer der vielen sehr guten Zwischensequenzen Dieses Spiel hat alle Lobeshymnen verdient. Es ist fantastisch erzählt, getragen von starken, weiblich gelesenen Charakteren, mit queeren und heteronormativen Lebensentwürfen. Im Lauf der gut 40 Stunden werden Themen wie Verlust, Trauma, Rache, Einsamkeit und Depression verhandelt. Das Spiel will viel und erreicht vieles davon. Leider bleibt es aber ein Spiel. Nach etwa der Hälfte des Spieles kommt es zu einem drastischen Knick. Bis dahin spielt man mit Ellie in etwa 25 (im besten Sinn) anstrengenden Stunden auf eine Konfrontation zu. Anstatt dass der Konflikt nun aufgelöst wird, bricht das Spiel ab, wechselt zu einer anderen Spielfigur, mit der man dann die im Spiel stattgefunden drei Tage erneut spielt, nur eben aus einer anderen Perspektive. Und auch wenn dieser Teil der Geschichte absolut großartig ist, musste ich mich zwingen, nach diesem Bruch überhaupt weiterzuspielen. Ich fühlte meine Zeit, die ich bis dato in das Spiel gesteckt hatte, nicht wertgeschätzt. Es ist ohnehin ein Problem, dass Spiele immer mehr Zeit beanspruchen, und je älter ich werde, umso mehr clasht das mit meinem Erwachsenenleben. So ein Bruch fühlt sich dann wie Verrat an. Anders als Filme und/ oder Serien mit Cliffhangern und so weiter konsumiere ich im Spiel nicht nur passiv sondern muss auch etwas „dafür tun“. Was in dem Fall bedeutet, die überschaubaren Spielmechaniken immer und immer wieder und erneut weitere 20 Stunden durchzukauen. Narrativ machte der Bruch Sinn, als Spielerlebnis war er aber völlig verzichtbar. Meiner Meinung nach auch verzichtbar war dann am Ende der obligatorische Endbosskampf. Natürlich nicht als solcher erkennbar, dafür ist _Last of Us Part 2_ zu gut, aber die üble, überaus brutale Schlägerei zwischen den beiden Protagonist:innen erfüllt genau diesen Zweck. Und ich hätte sehr gerne darauf verzichtet. Nach über 40 Stunden, in denen krasse Gewaltexzesse aneinandergereiht wurden, wollte ich einfach nicht mehr. Und die Option, einfach nicht die Knöpfe zu drücken, um der anderen Figur blutige Verletzungen zuzufügen, gibt es nicht. Ich habe es probiert und keine Taste am Controller gedrückt. Das führte nur zu einem Game Over. In diesem Moment war dieses fantastische Spiel einfach nur ein Spiel. Und nicht mehr. Ich glaube, die Geschichte funktioniert hier dann als Serie besser. Wir werden sehen, wenn die weiteren Staffeln erscheinen.
