The capital's #Laugarnestangi area has won protected status. It is considered an important part of the #history of #Reykjavík, and contains remains of a bishop’s official residence, a leprosy #hospital, and #wartime relics.

An artist who has fought for the protection of #Laugarnestangi celebrates that it is is now within sight. City council approved last week the beginning of work with #Minjastofnun (Cultural Heritage Agency of #Iceland).
